The Secondary school JETS club was formed in 1982 by professor Peter Okebukola.
JETS is an acronym for "Junior Engineers, Technicians and Scientists". The JETS club is a science body that helps in inculcating better understanding of sciences into its members.The JETS club is supposed to be in every secondary school in Nigeria.
The JETS club in Excel Model Secondary School Wukari, came in to be in 2008, Eng. A. A. Bamgbose was the man behind the mask and he consolidated the club during his one year as a corp member in Wukari, Taraba State. 
The Excel Model Secondary School JETS club holds a weekly meeting where its members meet and have lectures, talks, questions and answers, and lots more.
All JETS club members must be science students of the senior classes [SS1, SS2 and SS3].
The Excel Model JETS club holds an annual event called THE JETS DAY in which different schools are invited to participate in a competition comprising of Quiz, Speech presentation and Impromptu.Fabulous prizes are usually presented to the winners. Excel Model Secondary School is not allowed to participate in the annual JETS DAY, since they are the host school.
The first JETS DAY was held in 2009.
